Natural oil for floors and terraces

Natural oil for floors and terraces

Floor and terrace oil is designed for treating wooden floors, parquet, stairs, furniture, as well as terraces and other outdoor wooden surfaces, such as garden furniture, stair treads, walkways and wooden bridges. It is a natural linseed oil-based composition containing natural pine resin, rosin, waxes and special additives.

Suitable for both interior and exterior use. Also suitable for various types of wood — coniferous, deciduous, and thermowood.

Linseed oil is deeply absorbed into the wood, impregnating it and protecting it from moisture, while waxes on the surface form a protective layer that repels moisture and dirt. The oil emphasises the texture of the wood, creates a silky matt sheen and improves the wear resistance of the surface.

Tinting and UV protection: If you want a tinted surface, tinting is carried out before applying the oil. We recommend using NATURA wood stain based on linseed oil, which is fully compatible with oil for floors and terraces. A surface tinted with wood stain provides longer-lasting UV protection, protecting the wood from discolouration due to sun exposure.

Surface preparation: Before lubricating, the surface must be sanded with a sander. It must be dry and free of dust, grease, oil and wax.

Application: The oil must be thoroughly mixed, its temperature should be +20 ºC, and the surface temperature should be +15-25 ºC. Apply to the surface and spread with an applicator or flat brush. Apply a thin layer and allow to absorb for 20-30 minutes. Any oil that has not been absorbed must not be left on the surface — it must be removed with a clean cloth.

Polishing: Performed using a polishing machine with a white disc. Its purpose is to evenly distribute the oil layer and more thoroughly fix the wax composition in the wood structure, increasing the effectiveness of the protective layer. Polishing is not mandatory, but it significantly improves the quality of the coating and extends the service life of the surface, especially in areas of heavy use.

Drying: After the first drying (6–8 hours), apply a second coat of oil. Depending on the temperature and humidity, the oil will dry completely in 2–3 days.

Consumption: Depends on the type of wood, moisture content, pre-treatment and other factors. On average, pine: 10 – 14 m²/l, oak: 16 – 20 m²/l

Cleaning: Work tools are cleaned with alcohol, warm water and soap.
